Sheldon talks sex on ‘Big Bang’

Sheldon says there's “a possibility” he’ll sleep with Amy one day.

Sheldon finally made a major revelation on Thursday’s The Big Bang Theory. He basically told Penny that he could, possibly, do the deed with Amy one day. Keep in mind we’re talking about Sheldon here, so this is pretty epic news. Unfortunately, it was the only big moment in the episode.

As expected, the main storyline on “The Cooper/Kripke Inversion” involved the two title characters. Both Sheldon and Kripke were working on a proposal for a new fusion reactor. However, the university was only allowed to submit one proposal, meaning the duo had to work together. And anyone who’s watched at least two episodes of The Big Bang Theory knows that Sheldon and teamwork don’t go together.

The frenemies reluctantly agreed to read over each other’s work to find out who should take the lead on the proposal. Surprisingly, Kripke had written the best paper. What’s even more surprising is that Sheldon admitted to himself that Kripke had done a better job. He even accepted a hug from Amy to cheer him up. “I feel like I’m being strangled by a boa constrictor,” he told his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Raj and Howard’s storyline involved action figures (or as Bernadette called them: “dolls”). It turned out the custom-made action figures they ordered online looked nothing like them. So what did they do? They bought a 3-D printer — to the tune of $5,000 — in order to make true figures of themselves. “You deserve one,” Raj told his buddy. “You’ve worked hard to find a woman who makes a lot of money.”

It’s safe to say Bernadette didn’t agree with Raj’s philosophy. Howard’s wife became furious when she found out he had bought a ridiculously expensive printer without consulting her fist. He was forced to sell his part of the machine to Raj.

Sheldon wasn’t a happy camper on Thursday’s episode either. He was forced to listen to his co-worker put down his work. Kripke blamed Sheldon’s less-then-stellar proposal on the fact that he has a girlfriend who keeps him busy. But we all know that’s not the case. The most “romantic” thing Sheldon’s done for Amy is probably that time he put VapoRub on her chest when she got sick.

Of course, Sheldon lied to Kripke about his active sex life. “What can I say? She enjoys my genitals,” he quipped at one point. It was all so that he wouldn’t have to admit that his proposal wasn’t great.

The highlight of the episode came when Penny flat out asked Sheldon whether he’s ever going to sleep with Amy. He explained to her that he’s uncomfortable with physical contact that comes so natural to other people. “Are you saying some day you and Amy might actually get physical?” Penny asked. To witch Sheldon replied with, “It’s a possibility.” At least we’re getting somewhere.

The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV/CBS.
