Nature shows can be beautiful to watch, from the majestic animals to their gorgeous, sometimes brutal surroundings. But nothing is more devastating than watching a predator go after its prey. Yeah, yeah, it’s the whole circle of life/food chain thing, and it has to happen because it’s a matter of life and death for both the hunted and the hunter — but that doesn’t mean, as a viewer, you like to watch it.

That is, until now. Because if you’re going to have anyone narrate a suspenseful, action-packed scene featuring a baby iguana escaping a swarm of hungry snakes, it’s Snoop Dogg. Sorry David Attenborough.

Snoop was back on Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s segment “Plizzanet Earth,” where he took one of the most dramatic moments in nature documentary series Planet Earth 2 and managed to maintain the tension while relieving it at the same time. Now that’s a gift.

“Snakes are straight a**holes,” says Snoop. “You can tell the way they’re looking at him.” Snoop does have a theory though.

“One thing about a lizard. I think he had Geico. If he had Geico he got a 15 per cent chance of making it up outta here.”

And Snoop, who refers to the iguana as “uncle” and “nephew” and “cuz,” is clearly taken aback when his little on-screen pal is briefly captured by the snakes.

When the iguana — spoiler alert! — finds its way to safety by scrambling up some rocky terrain, Snoop notes the obvious: “Snakes can’t do all that ’cause they ain’t got hands. And they ain’t got feet.” Aw. Sweet, sweet Snoop. Can he please narrate all the nature shows?
