Sure, we’re feeling all patriotic about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s three-day visit to Washington, D.C., but we all know who the real star of the show was: Trudeau’s radiant wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and her spectacular (Canadian!) wardrobe.
From the poppy Lucian Matis dress to that red Aldo(!) clutch, lovely Sophie has dressed (and beamed) in head-to-toe Canadian. But we’ve fallen hardest for her pink-on-pink Amelia pumps by Zvelle. Designed in Toronto by Elle AyoubZadeh, these luxurious shoes are hand-crafted in a small, family-owned factory in southern Brazil.
Inspired by 1930s trailblazer Amelia Earhart, the Amelia is as sleek as an airplane with cool wing detailing and a sexy pointed toe. Not only does the fab shoe have mojo in spades, but it’s also got a timeless quality that works with everything from power suits to cocktail dresses. Even better, each pair has a fully cushioned leather insole and Zvelle’s gorgeous gold logo on the outsole.
Given the quality (and compared with some bigger name luxury brands which are, in fact, made in the same Brazilian factory), these shoes are a total steal. Zvelle manages to keep its costs down by selling direct to consumers online. No fancy boutique means no big overhead. Which must be why they’re totally okay with offering free shipping and returns in Canada and the US.
And if all of that isn’t enough to get you all hot and bothered, Zvelle is donating $10 for every pair of shoes sold in 2016 to Women’s College Hospital Foundation (a cause we’re sure Mrs. Trudeau would feel pretty good about).
Who they’re for:
Women looking to go from boardroom to Bellinis in style.
