How often do we really think about the products we’ll need in case of a beauty mishap on Valentine’s Day? Whether you’re on a date with the stud you recently bumped into at the gas station or the man you’ve been in love with for years, there are always maintenance issues to deal with, right? Forget Bridget Jones’ Diary – Spanx have no place on a night like this, but these products will.

Body booster
Seriously, there’s nothing that could make a woman feel sexier than a good head of va-va-voom hair. Whatever your shape or size, a few of the right elements can make you feel like a sexy goddess and full, blown hair is one of them. Avoid catching a glimpse of your reflection in the restaurant window and seeing the flattest hair in town. Battiste’s dry shampoo will give you that quick boost in the wash room and will have your hair smelling dreamy in seconds. Just in case.

Aqua rouge on all night
There’s nothing more frustrating thank having your lipstick smeared all over your man’s face. I can attest to the fact that it does no good for you or him. The only lippy I have ever used that’s stayed put and not made a move on either of us is Make Up Forever’s Aqua Rouge. The liquid lippy comes with a lip gloss on the opposite end to keep your lips feeling soft and kissable. Expect this colour to stay on through lunch, dinner and your – ahem – midnight snack.

Love Chloe
In a scent study carried out by Glamour magazine and fragrance expert Dr Alan Hirsch, it turns out men aren’t into the sweet scents we love so much. Looking to seduce your man? Go for something that’s clean, powdery and has a hint of orange. According to their experiment, men were most turned on by latter scent. Whatever floats their boat! Love Chloe features notes of powdery musk, orange blossom and pink pepper. You’ll smell so good you’ll be fighting off the boys all night.

Sweet like chocolate
There is nothing more frustrating than either a) realizing that you forgot to moisturize and so your elbows, knees and legs look like sandpaper, or b) it being a Canadian winter and  your skin has dried out before you’ve even sipped your first glass of wine. Ladies, be prepared for such a situation. Keep your favourite body butter in your purse in mini format. My favourite mini-to-go has to be The Body Shop’s Chocomania body butter. Who says you can’t eat your chocolate and taste like it too?
