With the sun finally shining, who wants to stay indoors? No me! Even if you only have a balcony, you have a potential a little paradise waiting for you. The smallest balcony in the world can be styled to create a space to call your own. Here’s some of my advice that I hope will get you inspired to create an outdoor escape.

Plants
One of the reasons we step outside is to feel more in contact with nature, so you have got to have plants – no doubt about it. Plus, a bare balcony is really boring! Plants not only bring that “wild” feeling, but add so much more in regards to design: color, depth, aroma. Add flowers in all types and colors to give your balcony the most cheerful flowery ambiance.

Comfortable Seating
Never underestimate comfort! Small outdoor furniture made of hard-wearing materials can be super uncomfortable. Stop yourself from buying that piece that you think its perfect just because it fits the small space. Based on professional and personal experience, if you have uncomfortable furniture, you will never step outside and use it. Keep positive and keep the search for that perfect sized piece that is both beautiful and comfortable. It is out there!

Design Details
Decoration is the key that will help you transform a small balcony into a nice relaxing area that you won’t want to leave. Give your balcony even more life by using an exterior carpet or artificial grass to dress the floor. This is the best way to take the edges out of your city terrace. String lights and lanterns will dowonders to make it feel cozy and warm.
