With clients including Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, and Julianne Moore, it’s no wonder that Canadian Leslie Fremar tops the Hollywood Reporter’s annual list of the most powerful stylists in Hollywood.

Toronto-born Fremar pulled off a red carpet coup when she dressed Julianne Moore in a canary yellow top and high-waisted skirt by Dior Couture for the 2012 Emmys. The look was from Raf Simons’ beloved Fall 2012 couture collection for Dior. Rather than rock the sheer shirt braless as styled on the runway, Fremar recognized her client is not Rihanna and wisely put Moore in a bra.

Fremar had another winner with Charlize Theron at the Oscars. Again working with Dior Couture, Theron’s white peplum top and body-skimming skirt with train was appropriately glam for the award’s show, plus it showcased Theron’s toned arms. Fremar is rumoured to be shopping a denim line with Theron—just another reason the stylist has muscle of her own.

The runner-up on the list was Petra Flannery, who dressed Claire Danes in a red Versace with a plunging V for her Golden Globe win, less than a month after the birth of her son Cyrus. Flannery just worked with Mila Kunis on her Oz outfits, and will have a busy summer styling Zoe Saldana for the international press tour for Star Trek Into Darkness.

Reality TV star Rachel Zoe came in third—a downgrade from last year, when she was acclaimed by the magazine as “too big to rank.” The magazine faulted her for Anne Hathaway’s Prada gown that inspired the hashtag “#LesNipplerables.”
