Heidi Klum’s eye for design runs in the family. Adorable monster sketches drawn by her six-year-old son Johan Samuel will adorn a limited capsule collection of kids’ shirts for Klum’s Babies ’R Us line Truly Scrumptious. As you can see by Klum’s shirt, Johan is predicting googly eyes will be huge for spring.
The baseball-style Ts will be available in newborn to 5T sizes. Johan’s shirts also introduce Project Doodle, a search for the best kid’s doodle to add to the collection. Klum will lead a jury to select the top ten submissions, and the final winner will be chosen by public vote next month. To celebrate the launch, Babies ’R Us has donated $50,000 to international children’s charity Save The Children.
Klum’s Truly Scrumptious line of apparel and decor debuted in Babies ’R Us stores in Canada and the U.S. last fall. The Project Runway host has her own four children to inspire her: eight-year-old daughter Leni with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, as well as Henry, 7; Johan, 6; and Lou, 3, with her ex-husband Seal.
Luckily for Johan, he isn’t the family’s primary breadwinner quite yet. Klum has been in New York, judging the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent alongside Spice Girl Mel B., Howie Mandel and Howard Stern. The radio host’s advice has been even more frank than Klum is used to from judging Project Runway. “He just says what he’s thinking,” she told the New York Daily News. “I think the mom in me is a bit more sympathetic!”
