If you’re looking for a way to spice up your sex life, you may want to hit the paint store this weekend. A new study has found a link between the colour of bedroom walls and eliciting desire in the room’s inhabitants.

Travelodge conducted a study with 2,000 British homes and found that while blue is the best colour to help get a good night’s sleep, caramel tones will help you get a good night’s kiss…etc.

People with caramel-toned rooms reported having sex three times per week, as opposed to those surveyed with red rooms, who surprisingly have the least amount of sex. The ‘red room’ is a myth? Fifty Shades of Grey is a lie!

The people behind the Travelodge survey explained that caramel tones remind people of confectionery-like items, which helps set the mood.

Rooms painted in purple, grey or brown are the least conducive to getting a good night’s sleep, while accountants and engineers typically paint their rooms gold, another bad choice since it causes financial anxiety.

We’re thinking two walls in blue, two in caramel. Sound like a plan?
