We can all appreciate an intricate setย of nails — but NYFW designer The Blonds took the term nail art to new heights at their show this year.

The show opted to tell a 300 hour story with the manicures working the runway.

That’s right, these nails took 300 hours to create — and the results were worth it.

Creative Nail Designer co-founder and style director Jan Arnold explained to PopSugar that both the collection and nails tell the story of “a young, naive princess who got pushed around and told what to do…and became entombed.”

Then, when she is released in modern day — because the story isnโ€™t cool enough — she realizes the importance of finding her powers, and “her nails became her talisman.”

So, why did these narrative nails take so long to make? Each set of nails were made from scratch — every single oneย was sculpted by hand from CND’s Liquid & Powder system and then hand painted to look like geodesic and agate stones, among others.

It’s no wonder creative directors David and Phillipe Blond decided to not have the models wear wrist or hand jewellery. Who wants to take away from upwards of 300 hours of work?

Now, excuse us while we book our next manicure.
