These days nothing is off the table in terms of oversharing and social media. Especially when it comes to the harsh realities of women in labour.

One sister proved as much recently when she posted a picture of her younger sister on Imgur toughing out some labour pains, while she looked smugly into the camera with her perfectly made up face and hair.

SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her v ag!

Obviously 28-year-old Kat Armendariz posted the photo as a joke — she did accompany the snap with the caption, “SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her vag!” after all. But as most women who have been through labour know that kind of picture isn’t always… hilarious. So when women came to the younger Armendariz’s defence it was pretty much to be expected.

“She’s gonna hate you for this one day,” read one of the hundreds of comments.

“If someone took my picture while I was in labor, I would make a point of keeping my placenta just so I could throw it at them,” read another.

“Keep on smiling, your turn will come one day,” warned one user.

Well as it turns out, Kat’s turn has come. Five times, to be exact. That’s right, the mother of five was happy for it to actually be someone else’s turn for a change.

“I have five [children], so the reason for the selfie is that it’s finally her turn because I did my time,” Armendariz told HuffPost.

The older sibling also revealed that her younger sis found the picture funny once everything was said and done. Obviously she was a little too busy to appreciate the humour (or even know of the picture’s existence) at the time.

Chalk one up for Kat… for now anyhow. We’re sure her sister will be calling her over for some Aunt duty soon.
