Vacuum cleaners. They’re useful for keeping your floors clean, making sure the space underneath your couch cushions doesn’t get too grimy and helping your bed stay relatively cat/dog hair free. A thing that vacuum cleaners aren’t exactly known for? Ponytails. Enter Chanel’s spring 2018 show, where models wore their hair encased in clear perspex.

Looks pretty neat right? Wait ’til you see how they got the hair in the tubes.

Hairstylist Sam McKnight used a vacuum cleaner to help suck up models’ hair neatly into the cylinders, before tying it into place. The ‘how-to’ video, which he demonstrated on model Binx Walton, has already received over 66,000 views. The look is chic, structural and unique, exactly what you’d expect strolling down a Chanel catwalk. While the hairstyle is definitely runway worthy, we’ll probably be sticking to our regular ol’ hair ties.
