Apple has held its annual keynote, which is kind of the big event of the year if you’re interested in technology. But you don’t need to be a tech person to get excited about the news that comes out of Apple Day every year. Because a lot of what’s coming out is for the betterment of your life. So, what did happen? A lot. So, here’s what’s coming out of the Apple pipeline:

  1. There is a new iPad. The iPad Pro has a 12.9″ screen, and it’s powerful enough to house design suites like Autocad. It also has a battery life of 10 hours, and you can even buy an iPad pencil for $130. The pencil will help you draw, write and make notations with ease.ipad
  2. The iPad Pro will cost, all in, around $2,000. That’s a lot of zeroes.
  3. Your iPhone 6 is already obsolete. The iPhone 6S and 6S+ have been announced, and they’ll come equipped with stronger casing materials, 4K videos, photos that spring to life and some fresh new colours.

  4. A new iPhone 6 will cost anywhere between $900 and $1,300. Again, wow. Zeroes.
  5. According to Apple, 97 per cent of people who have Apple Watches enjoy using them. It’s worth noting that still many people do not have Apple Watches.
  6. Apple TV has a new friend. Siri is now going to be part of the Apple TV experience, which means you can just tell her to pick your damn movie already.
  7. There are new native apps for the WatchOS 2, including Facebook Messenger, iTranslate, AirStrip (for doctors to track patient vital signs).

  8. AirStrip’s fetal heart monitor is so intuitive it can actually differentiate between a mother and child’s heartbeats. That’s actually insane, and cool.
  9. Hermes has designed an Apple watch. Hermes is literally not a cheap brand at all.

  10. Gold and rose gold cases will range from $461 to $22,472. The latter price is, of course, absurd. And who on Earth could even justify that?
  11. The iPhone 6S/6S+ will come with an “Emergency Selfie” mode. Instead of fidgeting through menus or pressing a bunch of buttons, you can simply hit the camera, choose “take selfie” and it will be ready to go.
