The life-long friendships among the main cast of Friends are heartwarming and all, but have you taken a look at Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s union? It’s been 20 years since they first appeared on the show together as two-out-of-three Greene sisters, and to the untrained eye, it may look like Jen and Reese were only casual pals before teaming up for The Morning Show. But to those of us who scan red carpets for a living, it looks like they’ve been sending subtle nods each other’s way the entire time by slyly twinning on the red carpet FOR YEARS. Sure, they’re typically very different dressers, but where their fashion senses overlap, they’re near identical.
In celebration of both Greene sisters getting Golden Globes nominations (and shout out to sister #3, Christina Applegate for her own Dead to Me nod) we’ve pulled together 11 times Jen and Reese were totally (unintentionally?) twinning.

Ladies in RedFirst of all, twinning transcends time. Jen wore this strapless red number to the Emmys in 2000 (which, you might recall, she attended with Brad Pitt, whom you can see on her arm) and Reese modernized the look for the 2015 Met Gala. Getty Images
One-Shoulder WonderJen truly does windswept-yet-elegant like no one else. She opted for this black one-shoulder gown for the 2010 Golden Globes and eight years later, Reese wore a decidedly less-tousled interpretation to the InStyle post-Globes party. Getty Images
Boss LadiesNothing says “I’m in charge” quite like a pantsuit and both these ladies have worn their fair share (they are bosses, after all). Jen and Reese chose similar all-black styles 10 years apart at the 2009 He's Just Not That Into You premiere and 2019 Truth Be Told premiere, respectively. Getty Images
Skirt Suits FTWIf a pantsuit says “I’m in charge,” a skirt suit says, “I’m in charge and I’m also wearing a skirt because those two things are not mutually exclusive.” Reese’s 2017 Emmy-winning blue suit-dress is distinctly reminiscent of Jen’s 2016 Mother’s Day premiere ensemble. Getty Images
Draper JamesFlorals are more Reese’s thing than Jen’s but on these occasions, they both looked to be pulling inspo from Reese’s lifestyle brand, Draper James. Jen was in full bloom on the We’re the Millers blue carpet in 2013 and Reese had a similar vibe at a 2014 luncheon. Getty Images
Leather Legends‘kay, we need a moment. From flownsy florals to skin-tight leather, these ladies really can do it all. Reese’s minidress was fitting for the 2014 Hugo “Boss Women” fashion show and Jen donned her belted version at the 2019 Murder Mystery premiere. Getty Images
Orange You Glad They’re Twinning? This hue of orange is so bold, these two would look like they had intentionally coordinated their looks anyway, but Jen was also sporting a blonder ‘do than usual in 2011, making the similarities even more striking. Are we sure these two don’t share DNA? Getty Images
Sparkly SoulmatesAdmittedly, most ladies in Hollywood have worn a dress like this at some point in their careers, but what makes this particularly adorable is that these photos were taken a mere month apart. Reese wore her gown for the Golden Globes in January 2015 and Jen debuted hers at the Oscars that February.Getty Images
Bow BinaryThe bodices on these dresses are pretty distinctive, which makes it pretty cute that they’ve both opted for them. Jen wore hers to a 2012 gala honouring Ben Stiller along with then-fiancé Justin Theroux and Reese wore a more feathery version for the 2015 Hot Pursuit premiere. Getty Images
Half the SleevesIs it weird to point out that if you added these two one-sleeve dresses together, you would have a full two-sleeved dress? Anyway, Jen’s leather The Leftovers premiere dress from 2017 is the perfect compliment to Reese’s sparkly 2019 CMA Awards version. Getty Images
Burgundy BohoNow here’s a throwback! We nearly forgot that Reese Witherspoon spent a portion of the mid-2000s as a brunette. Reese’s flowy floral chiffon dress from 2004 looks like it could be that season’s version of Jen’s dress from 2000. Getty Images
