Celebrities changing their hair colour is nothing new, but we can’t remember the last time we saw such a rainbow of dye jobs. From cotton candy pink to Oscar the Grouch green, even the most conservative celebrities are trading in their natural hair colour for candy-coated tresses. Here’s how you can try this at home:
Pick a colour
If you’re not sure what to go for, just look at a rainbow. Seriously. While pinks and purples tend to be the most popular, we’ve seen orange, green and even multi-coloured. Taste the rainbow, if you will, since this is basically the Skittles of hair.
Wipe some on (for a day-long dye)
Try a non-permanent option like Kevin Murphy’s Color.Bug, which comes in pink, orange, purple, white, neon and shimmer. Simply wipe on colour and then shampoo away in the morning. This is the best way to start, since hating your new crazy colour is a tough pill to swallow.
Colour rinse (for a week-long dye)
If you want something a little longer lasting that won’t get all over your clothes, Garnier’s Colour Styler comes in blue, pink, purple, bronze and red, and is applied like a regular dye. After 2 to 3 shampoos, you’ll be back to your regular brown or blonde.
