When the rumours of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton first started, it seemed like a fauxmance. The timing just seemed a little too perfect, what with their divorces from respective exes Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert and well, the newest season of The Voice. But it’s not like The Voice needs any extra promo. The show does just fine without any hype, thank you very much. Aside from the talented aspiring singers, there’s always been Blake and Adam Levine‘s bromance as well as the Gwen and Pharrell love-fest.
But in hindsight, when we look beneath the little glances and subtle barbs between Gwen and Blake, there was obviously more. How did we miss this?
In Gwen’s first season last year, some of the shots Blake took at the blonde beauty seemed a little mean-spirited. And perhaps he was just hazing the newbie. But when Stefani returned for her second run, the tone was a little different. And now we know why:
It was bound to happen
Like he could resist her
No, really, she’s too adorable.
Oh, who’s he kidding?
Does he even have eyes for anyone else?
Guess who’s just a third wheel here
This is totally a double date

She’s looking at Pharrell but the body language is all Blake
Pharrell barely made it in this shot
Like, look how much she wants him
Never has “Hotline Bling” had so much sexual tension
They even have the Titanic move down
In fact, it’s been right under our noses the whole time
And now the world knows
And we love them, too.
The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CTV Two.
