Toronto singing group Choir! Choir! Choir! has delivered some stirring numbers in the past.

Remember this moving rendition of Bowie’s Space Oddity they sang in an art gallery? Or when they rocked out with Sloan for one seriously epic performance?

Well, they’ve done it again. This time, with over 2,000 people packing into Toronto’s Massey Hall to lend their voices and remember Prince in a manner we think the late artist would’ve really appreciated.

Choir! Choir! Choir!’s founders, Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman (AKA DaBu), who launched the weekly drop-in singing event in 2011, stood on stage and lead the group in singing Prince’s 1984 hit When Doves Cry.

Rehearsal took a couple hours, but paid off big time. The results are both stirring and beautiful. It’s chilling (in a good way!) to listen to the room full of voices singing along. But watching the emotion flood each person’s face as they belt out the words is something else.

Seriously, if you don’t get the shivers (if not the weeps, let’s be honest) during the acapella part, you’re either a robot or injuriously tone deaf, or a tone deaf robot. This is one tune we’ll have on repeat for days to come.
