You decided to take a cruise — but not just any ordinary cruise. A Disney cruise. And let’s just get this out of the way now: it’s a big deal. Big. Huge. Because all you have to do is imagine any Disney resort or hotel, put it on a boat and that’s what you’ve got with the Disney Fantasy or Dream or Magic or Wonder.

If you’ve never been on a cruise, it can be mind-boggling from the moment you book. If you’re heading to Florida at a certain time of year, the weather at the ports could be significantly warmer. Or rainier. Or both. And that’s just a drop in the Disney bucket because you also have to plan for theme nights like the Pirate Night deck party or Star Wars Day at Sea. That could be a whole other suitcase!

If you’re a Castaway Club or Disney Vacation Club member, or just a seasoned Disney Cruise Line veteran, go ahead, book your next trip. You already know all this. But for all the other Disney Cruise Line virgins, here are some tips and tidbits that we felt you need to know. We’re more than happy to be your personal DCL guide — and if you need us to travel with you, we’re OK with that too. Hop aboard!
