It’s 1 PM. You look down at the clock and realize you’ve been sitting behind your desk all day. You reassure yourself that your shuffle to refill your coffee did some good, but really you were gone milliseconds, not minutes. You know sitting all day is bad for your heath. Your back is sore, your neck is stiff. You haven’t gotten up to speak to a co-worker even for a minute. And to make things worse, it’s April, which not only means you really should be going outside to take a walk and enjoy the springtime air, but it’s tax time and you need to get’er done.

It’s no wonder you’re stressed.

Even if you can’t find the time to get away from your desk for long, there are some simple ways you can help relieve the stress on both your body and mind. Body Break stars and former Amazing Race Canada contenders Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod have put together three simple things you can do at your desk that will help reduce tension and stress. Best of all, although they won’t take long to do, their effects will last the whole day long.
