When you’ve reached the ripe old age of 14, you just want to lay around and catch some zzz’s, right? Just ask this dog named Toby, who just happens to be 14 years old himself. (That’s 72 in dog years! Whoa, right?)
Well, Tobs was chilling on the couch, feeling a little restless, when his owner’s grandson came along. Eager Alex, who is a pro at the whole sleeping-thing, was pretty sure he could help Toby get to sleep. Since Alex’s mom puts him to sleep by singing to him, naturally he thought a few sweetly sung lullabies would do the trick for Toby.
Sadly, they did not.
“Who are you? You’re lying in my bed!” we assume Toby thinks, as Alex works his way through “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” Toby puts his head down and pretends to sleep, avoiding eye contact and hoping that Alex will stop the singing.
When Alex moves into his second musical number of “You Are My Sunshine,” Toby realizes things are not looking good. “Maybe if I just turn my head… he’ll get the idea,” we assume he’s thinking. But after a solid minute of singing, Alex isn’t letting up. Getting desperate for some sleep, Toby sheepishly moves away from Alex, thinking to himself, “Erm, I’m just going to move over here now…”
With little choice left, Toby gives up and plops down. We know Toby… it’s a dog’s life.
