Meghan Markle may be thisclose to becoming a royal, but thanks to the internet she won't be able to leave her acting career completely behind. After recently saying goodbye to her biggest on-screen role on Suits, we take a look back at five other acting roles she may rather forget.
5. Deal make-or-breaker
Meghan had the potential to bear both good or bad news for contestants on Deal or No Deal -- she served as a briefcase model on the Howie Mandel-helmed game show.
“I would put that in the category of things I was doing while I was auditioning to try to make ends meet,” she explained to Esquire. “Definitely working on Deal or No Deal was a learning experience, and it helped me to understand what I would rather be doing … I would end up standing up there forever in these terribly uncomfortable and inexpensive five-inch heels just waiting for someone to pick my number so I could go and sit down.”
4. Tostitos enthusiast
We recognize Markle's face in this 2009 Tostitos commercial, playing a woman who debates what brand of tortilla chips to buy based on the number of ingredients. But that sure isn't Meghan's voice providing the shopper's inner monologue, as she hopes Gary and his short shorts don't show up at her bash. (There's one at every party...)
3. Hallmark queen
Meghan starred in not one but two Hallmark movies, proving she's been a hopeless romantic all along!
In 2014's When Sparks Fly, city girl Markle returns to her hometown over the fourth of July -- where it appears sparks do indeed fly with Canadian actor Christopher Jacot. Riverdale fans will recognize her city-loving initial beau as Betty's dad Hal Cooper.
Then, in 2016's Dater's Handbook, Meghan's looking to try something new -- by following the checklist found in a self-help book. How could she possibly choose between two men without it?!
2. See Meghan CSI
Meghan was also a repeat visitor to the CSI franchise, starting with a 2006 episode of CSI: New York in which she played a scantily clad maid suspected of murder.
Later, as officer Leah Montoya in a 2010 episode of CSI: Miami, she didn't claim to be a hero, but was willing to offer "an extra set of hands" to help in a fatal house fire. (Enter David Caruso to later use his set of hands to play her hero).
Markle had a brief but memorable stint in the premiere episode of the 90210 reboot that aired in 2008, confirming the buzz that the new show would push the boundaries even further than the original. Nope, we don't think she's looking for a contact lens down on the floor of that vehicle...90210CSIDeal or No DealMeghan MarkleroyalsTostitosTV
