Harry Potter fans rejoice! If you’ve missed seeing everyone’s favourite young wizard on the big screen since his film series ended four years ago, you have a new reason to get excited. It’s spin-off time!

The new film trilogy based on JK Rowling’s book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is kicking into high gear and it sounds magical! Details are slowly emerging about the new Potter-universe film series and it sounds like it could be even bigger than it’s bespectacled predecessor.

Featuring some names you know and some names you may not, yet, here are 6 reasons why the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films are guaranteed to be magic!

1. J.K. Rowling is the screenwriter

This will be the Harry Potter creator’s first time penning a movie. But since she wrote the entire Potter book series and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them novel, we are guaranteed that the scripts will be incredible. Has she ever written anything bad?

2. Eddie Redmayne has been offered the lead

According to sources, the winner of this year’s best actor at the Oscars Eddie Redmayne has been offered the lead role of “magizoologist” Newt Scamander in the series. Eddie was amazing as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything and his acting brilliance should help make the series stellar.

3. David Yates is directing it

David Yates, who directed all four of the last Harry Potter films, will be directing the entire Fantastic Beasts series. The last four Potter flicks were awesome, and we don’t expect he’ll let us down now.

4. Steve Kloves is helping

Steve Kloves, the gent who wrote seven of the eight Harry Potter screenplays is helping Rowling perfect her scripts. He will also be producing the films. That’s an extra dose of magic right there.

5. Lionel Wigram is the Executive Producer

Lionel Wigram, the man who backed the final four Harry Potter blockbusters will be the executive producer on this series as well. His skill at ensuring excellence is impeccable and will surely rub off on Fantastic Beasts.

6. The first film will be out next year

November 18, 2016 to be exact. How awesome is that? With how long we usually have to wait for major blockbusters to be released, the first film in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series is basically hitting theatres tomorrow. Almost. Let the countdown begin!
