If you’ve been following Blindspot and our new female crush Jaimie Alexander, you know that this is a series with some serious twists. Between surprise killings (poor David, RIP) and a heroine like Jane Doe who can pretty much take down any bad guy, this has been a pretty wild ride.
But nothing prepared us for Monday night’s winter finale, in which Jane Doe finally came face-to-face with the man from her dreams, Oscar (Francois Arnaud). Not to mention a video made by her former self, informing her that this entire tattoo charade was her idea, and that she was the one who wanted to infiltrate the FBI.
All right, so now we know the who behind the tattoos, but that leaves us with many, many more questions before the show returns on Feb. 29. Such as…
1. Will Jane tell Weller (Sullivan Stapleton)?
Now that Jane and Weller shared that oh-so-steamy smooch, we’re fully expecting things to get awkward at work. But with this new secret Jane has, we’re thinking we need a new word for awkward. We probably wouldn’t tell right away either, but wasn’t it Jane pushing Weller all season long to open up to her? Geesh.
2. Is there going to be a love triangle?
Thanks to the magic of flashbacks, we know that Oscar and Jane used to totally get it on. Does that mean they’ll be having all the sex when we come back? Thanks to Francois Arnaud’s previous work on The Borgias, we know that he’s up for the task. But then there’s poor Weller to think about. Clearly at this point, we’re not even sure who to root for. So how could Jane know?
3. Does this mean we’ll learn Jane’s real name?
Nothing against the name Jane, but we’re super curious about what her actual name could be. Will Oscar tell her, or does he have to keep it a secret for a while longer in order to protect the plan. Speaking of…
4. What is the plan?
Will Oscar and Jane work side-by-side now? Will she become like a double informant between him and the FBI? Just when she was starting to earn everyone’s trust? Heck, Zapata (Audrey Esparza) even resigned because she didn’t want to rat on her own co-worker.
5. Wait, did Zapata actually resign?
Now that Oscar killed Carter (Michael Gaston), will she actually leave the bureau, or can she find out about his disappearance/killing/murder just in time to take it all back? Maybe Reade (Rob Brown) will find it first, and he’ll cover for her. (We totally sense a potential love connection between those two.)
6. Does this mean girl time is over?
We’ve really, really, really loved the scenes between Jane, Zapata and Patterson (Ashley Johnson). Adored them even. There aren’t enough girls nights out on TV, in our opinion, but these three nailed it. With so much dark and twisty stuff happening around them, are those days numbered? We certainly hope not.
7. Can Patterson ever be happy again?
We go back to poor, poor David. He and Patterson were like the perfect, cute couple every show needs for viewers to become super invested. And then he died. Does that mean our puzzle-loving, geek gal Patterson has gone to the dark side for good? Or can she rebound when the show returns? Here’s hoping yes, because she’s sort of our favourite.
Guess the countdown until the show’s return is on.
