Regardless of where you stand on the breast vs bottle debate, we can all agree that, in 2016, both ways to feed your child are completely acceptable in public, in private, wherever. The breast is best movement champions, among other things, the right to breastfeed in public, and has a whole bunch of celebs backing it. Rightfully so! We’re all for mamma’s rights! (This includes those who use formula, too–we’re all in this together).
It’s great to see the stars using their voices to help to normalize breastfeeding in public by speaking out on the topic and posting their own parenting pictures to social media. In light of World Breastfeeding Week, we’ve compiled a list of stars who aren’t afraid to walk the walk and demonstrate that breast is best.
The former reality TV star gave birth to her first child this past summer, and in a recent post, shared a pic of her and her new babe. We love the hashtag she used: #momonthego.
Model Chrissy Teigen marches to the beat of her own drum, and we love that about her. After she gave birth to her baby girl Luna earlier this year, her Snapchats have turned into a series of her feeding her daughter wherever life takes her. It’s awesome. From late night topless feedings to on-set photoshoots, Chrissy isn’t worried about who’s watching. Momma has her priorities straight!
This Insta pic of Victoria’s Secret angel Gisele Bundchen is an oldie but a goodie, and just goes to show that you can literally breastfeed in the middle of a job–even if you’re a model. Hair: check. Makeup: check. Nails: check. Satisfied baby: check.
Liv Tyler took to Instagram to #normalizebreastfeeding a couple months ago with a photo of her and her baby girl, Luna Rose cozied up in a nice, soft, warm spot on a Sunday morning. It’s a black and white snapshot of motherhood and it’s absolutely beautiful.
Jesse James Decker
Country star Jesse James Decker, who’s also a mom of two, received backlash for the photo of her feeding her kid, which she uploaded to social media. Um, what? “I mean, it’s just a boob!” she said in an interview with ET earlier this spring. We could not agree more, Jesse.
Tess Holliday is a plus-size model and feminist mom who isn’t afraid back up her position on breastfeeding on her social media. She’s posted several photos of her and her baby boy Bowie feeding while she’s at work.
Of course, we can’t write up a piece about celebs breastfeeding without including the legendary cover shot of Angelina nursing her and Brad’s twins. The cover and 30-image spread was photographed by Brad himself, and they provide an insight into the happy (at the time) family *sniff*. See all of the photos here.
