On Sunday night’s midseason finale of Quantico, we finally learned who was the terrorist behind the attacks on Grand Central Station that have haunted Alex (Priyanka Chopra) since the show’s pilot.

Well, sort of.

In another of the show’s crazy twists, it turned out that Elias was at least partially responsible for the attacks, but only because he was supposedly being blackmailed by the real terrorist.

Whaaaat? So much for promising to reveal the real terrorist in this episode, guys.

As if that weren’t enough of a curveball, in the show’s final moments another bomb did indeed go off. Right next door to where the FBI was thwarting a fake bomb: at the bank that had also become the temporary FBI headquarters. And where plenty of our favourite Quantico people were just hanging out.

Since we now have to wait until March to find out what the heck happens next, we’ve compiled some of our most pressing questions from Sunday night’s finale, “Inside.”

1. Did everyone actually survive that bomb?

Nope. At least not according to the executive producer and showrunner Joshua Safran. According to him you can’t have a bomb go off without some kind of casualty, and this show is no exception. We won’t find out right away who made the cut and who didn’t, but at least we’ll still have that character (or those characters) in flashbacks… right?

2. Was Elias telling the truth?

We can’t see why the show would throw that little wrench into the storyline if he wasn’t being blackmailed. But if he was telling the truth before he plunged to his own death, does that mean there could be more than one other terrorist out there? If you think about it, lots of other people could be being blackmailed too.

3. Does Alex get her job back?

Given the fact that she went from being the world’s most wanted supposed terrorist to the person who tried to stop a second bomb, maybe there’s hope for the Quantico star after all. But there has to be some kind of an investigation into why these FBI people are so shady at some point, doesn’t there?

4. Why was Caleb at the bank?

We were once told that we should be petrified of the world if Caleb was the terrorist, just because of how innocent and bumbling he seemed to be. But what if it was all an act, and the analyst turned Quantico recruit had more up his sleeves than his superstar family? There’s definitely something more going on there, we say…

5. What was up with Liam and Alex?

So that was totally the start of a weird, shady affair between teacher and student, right? Just when we were finally holding out hope that Alex and Ryan could be happy after all. Here’s hoping it’s just as steamy and scandalous as we’re picturing it to be.

6. What happened to Miranda’s son?

With so much else going on in the episode, we almost forgot about that salient plot point when Miranda finally went home, only to see her battered son at her doorstep. Knowing he runs with such a tough crew, we wonder if we’ll actually find out what happened. If we know anything about “tough crews,” it’s that they rarely actually open up.

7. Can we please have more of Marcia Cross and Eliza Coupe?

The ladies may have popped up as antagonists in the midseason finale, but we were totally pumped to see them on board. It seems like forever since we’ve seen Cross in anything (how long ago did Desperate Housewives end?) and we’re totally digging Coupe – whom we loved in Happy Endings – as Ryan’s ex-wife. Love it, even.

So why, why, why do we have to wait until March for more?

Quantico returns Sunday, March 6 at 10 p.m. ET on CTV.
