Let’s face it: Stripping and pole dancing aren’t the same thing.
Strippers often engage in pole dancing, yes. But they are still two separate entities. So while ripping off one’s clothes in a sexual fashion might be fun to watch, it stops a little short of being an art.
Pole dancing, on the other hand, is absolutely an art. And one you may or may not have “donated” a substantial amount of money to by now. But before you start scoffing at the notion that it has any substance, check this out:
Bet you didn’t see anything quite like that at your last peep show, right? And it gets even better. Some of the moves we’ve seen are mind boggling. Like this next dancer — what muscles is she even using?!
See, now that looks painful AND impressive. Kind of like this next girl, whose leg must really be chafing by now:
Or this one, whom gravity just doesn’t seem to apply:
Given that the dance is so hard to master on its own, we really respect those who can multitask:
But we do have some questions about this next one. Like…is her armpit really the only thing holding her to that pole?
This dancer, on the other hand, apparently took a page out of Mission Impossible’s playbook:
Annnd we’ve just discovered entirely new muscle groups, because there is no way we thought the human body could do something like this before:
And if you’re just getting into the pole dancing yourself, don’t worry about it going anywhere. The future certainly looks bright:
Ah, innovation. What an art.
