Prom is supposed to be the most magical night of your high school experience—just ask any teen movie from the early-’00s. Picking out the perfect head-to-toe look, getting ready with your friends, that awkward staircase photoshoot your parents stage that makes you want to melt into the floor, finally getting there and spending the whole night owning the dancefloor with pals or holding up with the walls or nervously staring at your crush is all part of what makes the night unforgettable. You know what else would make it a night to remember? If an A-list celeb came as your date.

A handful of lucky regulars got the opportunity to make it happen, either because of an epic prom-posal, a celeb’s burning desire to live like a normal teen for a minute or some other fateful circumstance that found a famous face attending the rite of passage. And with prom season upon us, here are 9 of the most memorable times celebs said ‘I Do’ to a mere mortal and made their dreams come true.

1. Khloe Kardashian

Khloe Kardashian attended her first-ever prom last month after receiving an invite from super-fan Narbeh who runs a Kardashian-Jenner Instagram fan account with over 240,000 followers. The Keeping Up with The Kardashians star accompanied Narbeh to his high school prom at Hoover High School in Glendale, California and later posted about her exciting night on Twitter, with Narbeh of course sharing all the behind-the-scenes goodness on his IG page.

2. Drake

A lot of teens would be extremely embarrassed if a family member chaperoned their prom but when your cousin is Drake, it’s a different story. Drizzy escorted his cousin and his date to prom in 2017 and made sure they arrived in style, rolling up in a white Rolls Royce. The 6ix god even threw an after-party for 400 of his cousin’s friends and, yes, we wish we were cousins with Drake too.

3. Kylie Jenner

Makeup mogul and reality star Kylie Jenner attended prom at Rio Americano High School in Sacramento back in August of 2017. The celeb never had the chance to go to her high-school prom, since she was home-schooled and also part of a mega-famous reality TV dynasty, and wanted to get the full high school experience IRL. After a boy named Alberto Ochoa’s original date rejected him, his friends took to social media to help him out and Kylie of all people noticed. The whole saga was documented on an episode of Life of Kylie, and (we assume) Alberto’s life was forever changed.

4. Kellan Lutz

In 2015, Twilight actor Kellan Lutz took high school student Brianna Siciliano to prom after she reached out to him over social media and shared her struggles with being bullied. As a show of support, her friends campaigned for him to take her to prom and the pair attended her dance at Monroe Township High School in New Jersey.

5. Nina Agdal

Dreams ended up coming true for L.A. high schooler Jake Davidson in 2013 even though his original celeb date, gorgeous Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton, had to bail. He originally prom-posed to her in an epic YouTube video you probably saw and she planned to attend but ended up getting stuck at work. Guess what? Model Nina Agdal, aka Leo DiCaprio’s ex, came to the rescue, stepping in and dazzling the Milken Community High School prom that night. Pretty impressive back-up date!

6. Demi Lovato

Not many can say that they made a prom-pact in kindergarten but not everyone is Demi Lovato. The singer attended prom in her home state of Texas with her best guy-friend Nolan Nard back in 2013 and revealed in was in the works for years. In a now-deleted tweet Lovato wrote, “A promise made in kindergarten finally coming true. Prom with @nolannard!!! :).” How sweet!

7. Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade definitely brought the heat when he attended Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School’s senior prom with Nicole Muxo in 2013. Wade felt compelled to respond after being called the perfect date in Muxo’s prom-posal video. He escorted the lucky lady to prom, shared pics on his Instagram and left the dance early to resume his knee treatment and hit up team practice, which is what you do when you’re an NBA star.

8. Mila Kunis

In 2011 Mila Kunis received an invitation to the Marine Corps Ball from Sgt. Scott Moore’s YouTube prom-posal and she said yes! The pair attended the ball in Greenville, North Carolina and afterward, Moore told People that Mila “was very nice and very respectful… she gets credit and a lot of respect for coming here, not being part of this world and following through on her word.” We like a lady that keeps her promises.

9. Justin Timberlake

It may not have been prom but Justin Timberlake definitely brought sexy back in 2011 at the Military Corps Ball. Timberlake followed in his Friends with Benefits co-star’s footsteps and accepted a prom-posal from a member of the Marine Corps. He accompanied Corporal Kelsey De Santis to the Richmond, Virginia ball after encouraging Kunis to accept Moore’s request and Timberlake ended up having a poignant experience: “I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn’t forget. Something I could tell my friends about,” he wrote in a blog post on his site. “What I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience.”

Honourable mentions: Rihanna & Taylor Swift

Way back in the year 2007, Rihanna was on Once Upon A Prom, MTV’s reality show that connected high school students with their dream celeb prom date, no prom-posals necessary. Bad Gal RiRi had just released her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, and brought her signature style to her very first prom and chose Richard from a group of eligible students. The next year, 18-year-old Taylor Swift followed suit on the same show, and chose from a group of 50 dateless guys to make one lucky student’s dream come true.
