Whenever you board a plane, you can’t help but cross your fingers that a baby or small child isn’t seated nearby. It’s awful to judge, because some kids are amazing. If it’s a holy terror, however, it can be a nightmare, whether it’s an overseas flight or a couple-hours jaunt. But you know what’s even worse? When you’re the parent flying with said nightmare kid, who won’t settle down or can’t be consoled.

That was the case for an expectant mom travelling alone with her young son from Minneapolis to Atlanta. It’s only a two-hour flight, but it probably felt like the longest of her life when her boy became upset and started crying.

She could’ve lost it, the passengers around her could’ve lost it, even the flight staff could’ve lost it but instead, she found support from someone who understood. A man got up out of his seat and instead of complaining about the noise, he offered to help her out. He took her son from her so she could catch some Zs, and walked the aisle for most of the flight.

According to a nearby passenger, who posted the heartwarming pic on Facebook, “he told her that he was a DAD, and wanted to help her so she could rest. He walked the aisle most of the flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta comforting this woman’s son as if he was his own.”

This guy. What an amazing human being. Can you imagine how grateful the mom was? Just … wow. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be drying the torrential downpour happening on our face.
