Blogger, social media influencer, and now lingerie designer, Gabi Gregg, a.k.a. Gabi Fresh, sure is heating things up online – she just dropped a new size-inclusive lingerie line, and the internet is absolutely rejoicing at the fact.
She recently took to social media to unveil the new collection in collaboration with Playful Promises. And it’s making waves due to its body-positive, size-inclusive MO, with the collection boasting sizes ranging from 12-24, with some going up to 26, and bra sizes from 36B-44I. No more drab, plain underwear for those rocking a larger size, nope, because why should you have to choose between beauty and size?

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Gregg said, “I definitely wanted to go bold and push the boundaries of what plus-size women are told they are supposed to wear… As a 38HH, my lingerie options are severely limited, and often are just boring full-coverage bras.” We hear that – plus-sized women tend to get left behind in terms of style choices and options. “I made sure each piece I designed had special details and fabrications, from sequins to velvet to embroidered mesh.”
And of course, Twitter and Insta users brought all the love, letting their girl know just how needed and appreciated the new collection is, with reactions ranging from hilarious to borderline-tear-jerking:
Excuse me…up to a size I ??? I’m shaking this is amazinggggggggg

Whilst it’s great to see it getting the buzz it deserves, it also serves as a reminder of just how far we are from this being the norm, something Gregg herself is all too aware of, “I’m so excited by the latest runway shows and magazine covers that are being celebrated, but I can’t wait until the day that women of all shapes, sizes, colours, and abilities being included is the norm, not the exception.”
Luckily, it seems collections such as these that work to accentuate plus-size beauty rather than hide it, are slowly creeping into the fashion mainstream. In fact, this comes hot on the heels of the launch of Rihanna’s second lingerie collection, Savage x Fenty, which similarly showed off a broad range of sizes. And who could have missed Tess Holliday’s recent swimsuit Cosmo cover? Seems like ever so slowly, the conversation is shifting.
In the meantime, some users hilariously pointed out the badass editorial vibes Gregg was giving them, bringing to mind a certain caped crusader:
Oooh it feels like you’re in *the Christian Bale’s* Batman cave. Lol

No kidding – Gregg actually did draw inspiration from an unexpected source in the form of James Bond. “I came up with the James Bond-inspired vibe based on how sleek and sexy the product is, and went from there. I think it’s really powerful to see someone my size, 20, in lingerie, and that’s even more true when the imagery is editorial and high-fashion.” We love that she’s taking traditional ideas of power, sleekness, and sexiness and flipping them on their head. When we break open our ideas of attractiveness – it’s clear everyone wins.
