The Academy Awards are just a few days away and two of this year’s biggest contenders in the acting categories are Glenn Close and Sam Elliott. The screen legends are both nominated for their stunning work, but equally stunning is the fact that they’ve been hella hot in Hollywood for longer than most of their fellow nominees have been alive. Like we said, legends.
Close earned her seventh Academy Award nomination this year for her starring role in The Wife, up for Best Actress in a Drama, which she should win for this scene alone. She doesn’t even have a line. THAT’S how you act the hell out of a scene.
Sam Elliott is up for his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for playing Bradley Cooper’s brother in the latest remake of A Star Is Born, where Elliott’s graveled voice gets to shine like the star that it is. BRB, gonna smoke two packs of cigarettes, find someone with a cold to kiss, and hope for a miracle.
You may be asking, what do Glenn Close and Sam Elliott have to do with one another? They’re the only two actors in their 70s nominated this year, making the ‘golden years’ look hella golden and super fly. But if you’ve been a fan of both actors for a while then you know they’ve been hot for years. Nay, decades. Want proof? We’ve got your proof.
A reminder that Glenn Close and Sam Elliott have always been total smoke shows
