Parents everywhere understand that when it comes to nailing the perfect family photo, you need a lot of patience, determination, and sheer luck to make it actually happen. It’s no small feat to get all of those little ones (plus the frazzled parents) smiling and looking at the camera at the exact same time—no matter how many times you plead with kids to say cheese. Know who else gets that struggle? Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. The couple hilariously captured their own experiences trying to get their clan to pose for a family photo recently at Disneyland, proving that even the happiest place on earth isn’t enough motivation to get everyone on the same page as that lens. So they did what most parents try to do in that situation instead and laughed it off in a series of Instagram posts.[video_embed id='1486099']RELATED: Alec Baldwin shares marriage advice for Hailey and Justin[/video_embed]Hilaria posted several takes of the fam-jam, which includes Alec and their kids Romeo, 21 months; Leonardo, 3; Rafael, 4; and Carmen, 6. Ireland Baldwin, the 24-year-old whom Alec fathered with actress Kim Basinger, and her boyfriend, Corey Harper, also came on the trip.

Attempt number 1 at a family photo...stay tuned for more @disneyland

A post shared by Hilaria Thomas Baldwin (@hilariabaldwin) on

“Attempt number 1 at a family photo… stay tuned for more,” the author shared. To be fair, the setup wasn’t exactly ideal—that dude texting in the background kind of ruins the moment, plus the angle is just all off. That didn’t stop the mom from trying again, though. In between giving the kids bites of Mickey-shaped pretzels and putting them on a few rides, she persisted with that camera.

Perhaps we are making funny faces...but I do believe we are all actually looking @disneyland

In Take 2 Hilaria admits the family came a bit closer to nailing it, despite some wonky looks. “Perhaps we are making funny faces...but I do believe we are all actually looking,” she wrote.

3rd time (and Mickey’s pro photographer?)‘s the charm!!!!

A post shared by Hilaria Thomas Baldwin (@hilariabaldwin) on

In the end, all it took was a little Mickey magic (coupled with that third-time’s-a-charm luck) to get the proper family photo Hilaria was hoping for to commemorate their trip to the theme park. “3rd time (and Mickey’s pro photographer)‘s the charm!!!!” she wrote.Alec seemed to agree because that third photo is the same one he shared on his own Instagram account. “People would often ask me, ‘Who is the greatest filmmaker in history?’ I’d say, ‘That’s easy. Walt Disney,’” he wrote. “Here we are, hanging out w the biggest movie star of them all.”Wonder how long it took Mickey to perfect that gaze into the camera with Minnie and his own clan of cute critters.[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Jimmy Kimmel’s hilarious attempts at a family photo are super relatable[/video_embed]
