Genetically-blessed power couple Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez aren’t just engaged because they’re both gorgeous and incredibly fit. (Although, that’s definitely true.) They’re engaged because they are one another’s biggest fan, something A Rod proved in a video Lopez shared this weekend on her YouTube channel.
Lopez has been busy touring and is giving fans a behind the scenes sneak peek at life on the road. In her newest entry, It’s My Party Tour Diary: Volume One, Lopez endures a painful night on stage during her Las Vegas stop. Not only is the singer suffering from a cold and fever, but only moments into her set, Lopez hits herself in the head with her microphone. With blood running down her face and only one song done, Lopez continues to sing and dance her way through the pain, with Rodriguez waiting to congratulate her backstage.
“It was a tough show for me,” a teary-eyed Lopez told Rodriguez, adding that she wasn’t happy with herself. Rodriguez quickly went into hype-man mode, saying “It was the best show I’ve seen so far. You guys killed it! And you showed why you’re a champion, baby. You were down and you still came back up and had the best show.”
Congratulating Lopez and her team of dancers and singers, Rodriguez later took a few moments alone with his fiancé to continue with his wave of praise. “You don’t see how great you are. You really have no idea,” Rodriguez told Lopez, who was still visibly upset with her performance. “Baby, nobody’s looking at steps. People are looking at how beautiful you look and how great you sound.”
A Rod’s words worked, with Lopez later shown that same night smiling and joking with longtime manager Benny Medina. “Alex said it was the best show he’d ever seen. That’s why I love him and I’m gonna marry him. Whether he wants to or not, we’re getting married,” laughed Lopez. “We’re getting married forever.”
According to US Magazine, Rodriguez has been in the audience for many of his fiancé’s shows, which we get. The songs! The dancers! The abs!
The celebrity couple got engaged in March after two years of dating. The upcoming marriage will be Lopez’s fourth and Rodriguez’s second. The pair have already done an amazing job of merging their families, with the two often posting pictures of their new blended family, which includes Rodriguez’s daughters and Lopez’s twins, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. The Latin singer has even made a few appearances with the happy couple. Fiancé goals. Couple goals. Family goals.
