Anne Hathaway is not one of those celebrities who incessantly posts about her personal life. She's got just the right balance of professional, promotional and political, with peeks of her real life mixed in. In fact, you'll be hard-pressed to find any pics of her husband, Adam Shulman, or their son, Jonathan, anywhere on her Instagram. So it should come as no surprise that she probably/recently gave birth without saying a word publicly. It was in July that the Les Misérables actress revealed she was pregnant, likely to fend off the impending baby belly rumours. "It's not for a movie... #2," she wrote in a heartfelt caption on Instagram. "All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love." No one really knew then how far along she was, and everyone assumed we'd hear about it when she had the baby. Or not. You know, whatever floats her boat. But this past weekend, Anne, Adam and Jonathan were spotted in Connecticut. The Daily Mail posted photos of the family as they walked through the park in their winter gear, with Hathaway holding her son's hand in one hand and his yellow backpack in the other. But the focus wasn't on the couple or their three-year-old but, rather, the infant carrier Shulman was toting — presumably holding Baby No. 2. And sometimes, that's all the announcing a celebrity has to do: sneakily give birth, then one day, BAM! Be photographed with new baby. It's what many celebs do (Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and all three of her pregnancies immediately spring to mind), proving, yes, it can be done and, yes, they can keep their personal lives personal if they so desire.
The Mail noted that Hathaway has been out of the spotlight for weeks, and skipped the November 13th premiere of her new movie, Dark Waters. The following day, the Oscar winner posted a cryptic message on Instagram, writing, "It's for a great reason, but I was so sad not to get out to support @DarkWatersMovie with my buddies!! So proud of their work on this special and necessary film."You know what a "great reason" is? Having a baby! And while we're not going to hold our breath waiting for Hathaway to announce her and Shulman's second child, we will happily await any details or updates from the actress, be it the gender or the name. Or not. With Anne, you never know.
