The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, a.k.a. the Met Gala, is the most important night of the year for anyone involved in fashion. This year’s theme, Camp: Notes on Fashion, is inspired by writer Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay (which bears the same name) on the ideals of “camp,” which, basically, is anything that’s so bad it’s good. The camp theme is meant to be curious, eccentric and downright theatrical.

Given the theme, it’s no surprise that Lady Gaga went all out. In true Gaga form, her look — or rather four looks — were the epitome of camp. She put on a solo skit on the red carpet, arriving in a huge neon pink cape, then peeled that off to reveal a voluptuous black gown which then had a fitted pink floor-length dress hidden underneath. The grand finale featured her stripped down in black fishnets and her underwear with huge heeled boots.

Click through the gallery to see all of Gaga’s looks and the other winners and losers from the Academy Awards of fashion.
