All the times Céline Dion looked like delectable desserts

If we were to write a 2020 version of “Favourite Things” from The Sound of Music, pretty high on that list would be both “dessert” and “Céline Dion.” Truly, there’s nothing better than sitting down to a warm brownie while our French-Canadian song goddess croons out “It’s All Coming Back to Me.” But we're betting you didn't realize just how often our two favourite things just happen to look like each other.

Céline Dion, style icon that she is, frequently steps out in outfits that look very similar to the delicious confections we so love so much. From red velvet cake to swirly sorbet to a chocolate fountain, our gorgeous Canadian Queen looks straight-up delicious sometimes and we’ve tracked down her most edible outfits.

Céline as a stack of chocolate pancakes

Dessert for breakfast? Breakfast for dessert? Céline has it all with a side of Tiger King. Once you see the resemblance of that chocolate brown snakeskin coat to some chocolaty, hazelnutty dessert flapjacks, you can’t unsee it.

Céline as a Valentine's Day petit four

Is this Canadian singer, Céline Dion, promoting her accessories line in Las Vegas or a brilliantly staged photo of a delectable mini cake? Who can tell? Now that’s the "Power of Love."

Céline as a Cookie Monster cupcake

Not everyone can pull off Muppet Chic, but obviously, Céline Dion isn’t "everyone." Put that fanny pack on a regular person: awkward, juvenile, embarrassing. On Céline: dazzling, brilliant, revolutionary. The defence rests.

Céline as a caramel-chocolate cupcake

This. Skirt. Is. Fun. You know what else is fun? A chocolate cupcake with enough icing and caramel drizzle to send you into a sugar coma.

Céline as a Barbie cake

If you were around in the '90s and had a thing for dolls, you likely had one of these cakes and odds are a Céline Dion track came on while you were cutting into it. What a beautiful full-circle moment when she stepped out looking just like that classic children's birthday cake!

Céline as a ruffled ombré cake

What better way to bid adieu to Vegas than in a dress more extravagant than many people’s wedding gowns? It’s the Céline way.

Céline as a pile of Ferrero Rochers

We will die on the hill that it’s the biggest power move to dress as the award you’re accepting and since every move Céline makes is a power move, it was fitting that Dion wore gold to accept the Billboard Icon Award. So really she was dressed as two things: a Billboard Icon Award and a pile of Ferrero Rochers.

Céline as red macarons

Think about it: a French-Canadian woman dressed like a red and white French dessert. It’s almost too perfect. But then again, so is Céline.

Céline as a mocha milkshake

Céline: "Who moi? A devilishly delicious-looking mocha milkshake with whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder? If you insist."

Céline as Portuguese custard tarts

Sure, it's not the most elegant comparison but Is it still a pretty great opportunity to gaze longingly at those tarts and Céline's mastery of haute couture athleisure.

Céline as baked Alaska

The designing genius of Céline’s 2019 Oscar de la Renta Met Gala look can only be compared to the straight mastery and precise timing it takes to create the perfect baked Alaska. The sparklers are the icing on the cake (or 'the sparklers in the baked Alaska'—dessert metaphors are hard when you’re literally talking about dessert).

Céline as red velvet cake

Come on. She’s literally wearing red velvet. There’s nothing more to say.

Céline as this panna cotta with delicate sugar work

Most things are unworthy of being compared to an Iris van Herpen dress. A panna cotta with sugar detailing? It comes close.

Céline as a white chocolate fountain

This visual brings new meaning to the phrase "enrobed in chocolate"—it’s all we can think about while looking at this image. Both Céline and that fountain are oozing sheer extravagance and we honestly feel richer for having gazed upon both.

Céline as swirly sorbet

On some, this pink Miu Miu gown is a tacky ‘80s prom dress. On Céline, it’s an homage to a visual rollercoaster of a dessert we like to pretend is healthy. It’s got fruit in it, people—it’s good for you!

Céline as a six-tiered wedding cake

Really, "Céline as a wedding cake" should be at least 12 tiers and floating on a cloud of fairy dust and fulfilled dreams, but we’ll go with what we’ve got.
