Dog lovers can finally rejoice, because not only is there a show dedicated to all things canine (the yearly Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show), but now there’s a photographer sharing his love for all of these presented pups for free on social media.
Meet Elias Weiss Friedman, a photographer who has set out to capture the true beauty of dogs, and is now sharing them all on his Instagram account, @thedogist, for all to enjoy. Think lots of snouts, jumps, licks and head tilts, all designed to melt your heart during the super chilly days.
We can’t think of a better opportunity to snap such photos than at the 140th Westminster show, which recently took place in New York. There, the prettiest pooches and most talented tail-shakers were celebrated, with a German short-haired pointer strolling away as the Best in Show.
Here’s the good news. If you missed the show, you can still check out Friedman’s photos below, along with a few extras from his account. And believe us when we say that you don’t need to be a dog person to appreciate these pics; they’re kind of the cat’s meow.
This pup would beat us in a staring contest any day.
Oh, hey guys. Did you want to sit here too?

I spy, with my little eye, a big old black-and-white snout.
What do you mean you ate all the bacon?

This is how dogs wear their heart on their sleeves. Er, collars.

Maw, I told you I don’t want to cut my hair.
It’s a dog-eat-dog kinda world out there.

Don’t mess with the paw patrol.
It’s just a little snaggletooth. The dentist was booked.
I’m pawsome and I know it.
Beautiful, right? Yep, we thought so.
