Personally, we think you’d be a bit nuts not to love Amy Schumer already, what with her bang-on comedy sketches from Inside Amy Schumer, her ability to draw laughs on the big screen (Homewrecker, anyone?) and her pretty freaking awesome speeches.
While we’re at it, we also couldn’t think of anyone better to put Bill Cosby on trial or nail what the universe means to twenty-somethings with the help of Bill Nye the Science Guy. But we also get it — comedy is subjective and her brand won’t always appeal to everyone. But after hearing about Schumer’s latest meal at a restaurant, you probably won’t be able to not enjoy her as a person.
Schumer was dining out at a Long Island eatery in New York when she struck up a conversation with her server. Turns out, the guy was working two jobs in a bid to help pay for his college education. That struck a chord with the comedian, who has spoken openly about her struggles trying to stay afloat as a server while getting her acting career in line.
So she did what any millionaire would do, and left him a pretty hefty tip. How hefty? Well, the bill came to $49, and she figured an extra 500 bucks ought to do the trick. For those keeping track, that’s a thousand per cent tip. Makes you feel a little guilty about hemming and hawing over whether to leave 15 or 20 per cent, doesn’t it?
For us, it just means we kinda love Schumer 1,000 per cent more. Check out the video explaining the generous tip, above.
