Unless you’ve spent the last 12 hours offline, you probably know that Kate Middleton just gave birth to her and Prince William’s third child, a son. The Duchess went into labour early Monday morning, and naturally, every international news publication, tabloid and TV station flocked to the hospital to await birth announcements and catch the first glimpse of the little man.
Reporters and camera crews were parked outside the steps of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London where both Prince George and Princess Charlotte made their public debuts, but the couple who stepped out late Monday morning was not the Cambridges. Two unsuspecting new parents debuted their newborn to the world ahead of the royal couple when they exited the hospital using the very door Wills and Kate would eventually use later in the day to show off the new prince.

The couple haven’t been identified, but they certainly took in their moment in the lime light. They posed for photos on the steps, snapped their own photos of the waiting press and received congratulations from the crowd. Several TV stations also used the couple’s appearance in their Royal Baby coverage.

The internet has embraced the couple and the newborn as their own royal family and in true internet fashion, given them meme status. Some people are already penning the romance novels documenting how the two babies will one day meet and fall in love. Gotta occupy yourself somehow until the real royal couple comes out.
nothing but respect for my royal family https://t.co/dHnoXykEp4

A few hours later, the real royal couple and new prince came out the same doors to greet the public. Still no official name for the little guy, but George also made his public debut in 2013 before his name announcement.

Now all we need is a full family photo op and a name.
