Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are getting hitched
ICYDK, Joe Jonas and
Sansa Stark Sophie Turner have been a thing for the last 10 months. If you weren’t aware of this fact, the couple getting engaged over the weekend is really going to blow your mind. That’s right, Joe asked, Sophie agreed, and he put a ring on it. And what a ring it is, in all its pear-shaped glistening glory.
And the congratulations from the rest of the Jonas family quickly flooded in.

Game of Thrones may be coming to an end but Turner just gave us something to get excited about. Congrats to Sophie and Joe!
Mayim Bialik had some things to say about Harvey Weinstein and women were pissed
Mayim Bialik weighed in on the Harvey Weinstein saga in the New York Times, detailing her own experience with what we’ve all been hearing about in Hollywood, but hers differs from that of so many other women.
“As a proud feminist with little desire to diet, get plastic surgery or hire a personal trainer, I have almost no personal experience with men asking me to meetings in their hotel rooms,” Bialik said. “Those of us in Hollywood who don’t represent an impossible standard of beauty have the ‘luxury’ of being overlooked and, in many cases, ignored by men in power unless we can make them money.”
She called her choices “self-protecting and wise,” adding, “I have decided that my sexual self is best reserved for private situations with those I am most intimate with. I dress modestly. I don’t act flirtatiously with men as a policy.”
Every woman’s experience is unique, sure. But Bialik is missing the point but a mile, and her misunderstanding dangerously veers into victim-blaming territory. Contrary to what Bialik implied, it’s not just “perfect 10s” who experience harassment.
Needless to say, the feedback she received was a little ragey; understandably so.
@missmayim229 I have to say I was dressed non provocatively as a 12 year old when men on the street masturbated at me. It’s not clothing.

Mayim Bialik missed the perfect opportunity to call out men in Hollywood. Instead she blames women. https://t.co/kBJPGXhwI1

“I have decided that my sexual self is best reserved for private situations with those I am most intimate with. I dress modestly.” This is disgusting. @missmayim is placing blame on victims and forgetting that rape and assault are about power, not about desire. https://t.co/gVFoct2QyQ

Really want to again congratulate @missmayim on being too SMART to be PRETTY ENOUGH to get raped. What a great take to give to the world.

Bialik responded to the backlash with a tweet of her own.

The actress added that she’ll be doing a Facebook Live with the NYT on Monday to discuss the piece. We’ll be waiting, Mayim.
Oprah will NOT be helping Harvey Weinstein, thank you very much
Harvey Weinstein told his staff and friends that Oprah Winfrey called him and advised him to speak out and defend himself but O’s PR team is denying the hell out of that.
“Oprah has not spoken to Harvey Weinstein directly,” a spokesperson for Winfrey told TMZ. “Someone from his team reached out to her to see if she would talk to him, and she said she would if it was for an interview. There are no plans for an interview at this time.”
Her rep added that Winfrey wanted Weinstein for a 60 Minutes interview but only if “he’d look in the mirror and give her the honest, bone marrow truth.” Ha! So Oprah only wanted to grill (skewer?) Harvey, not help him.
Last week, Opes joined all the other stars who were speaking out about Weinstein, and took to Facebook to share her thoughts.
Mindy Kaling confirms she’s having a girl, squeeeeeeeeee!
Speaking of Oprah, remember when she announced Mindy Kaling‘s pregnancy to the press, confirming the rumours? Well, it’s a good thing Mindy’s a cool chick (though it IS Oprah, after all, so you can’t be that mad), because there’s no taking back that story. That being said, when she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday and was asked about the baby’s gender, Kaling wanted to break that news herself.
“I wanted to know way early,” Mindy told Ellen. “I’m having a girl.”
We can’t wait to see the mom in action.
The star-studded telethon for Puerto Rico disaster relief aired Saturday night
President Donald Trump may have forgotten about the natural disasters that have hit Puerto Rico, Texas, Florida and Mexico but others, not so much. Celebrities came together on Saturday to help raise money for those affected and they did good.
Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez and Marc Anthony put on One Voice: Somos Live, a disaster relief concert that was broadcast on NBC, Telemundo and Univision and featured performances by Demi Lovato, Maroon 5, Mary J. Blige, Chris Martin, Jamie Foxx, Gwen Stefani, Ricky Martin and Camila Cabello.
On top of the musical component, other stars like Kim Kardashian West, Ellen DeGeneres and Selena Gomez showed up to answer phones and help raise more money and more awareness for the charities involved.
Wow, $30 million and counting. Way to go but a way’s to go. Let’s keep it coming.
