Sorry, but if you were hoping Prince George and Princess Charlotte were getting a sibling, consider us the bearer of bad news. Prince William and Duchess Kate‘s royal neighbours to the north, Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, are the ones who are expecting.
“We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it,” the most beautiful royal couple announced on Facebook. “The birth is expected to take place in April of 2016.”
The couple, who tied the knot in June in a stunning ceremony in Stockholm, are believed to have delayed their announcement until now so as not to take away any attention from the christening of Prince Nicolas, to whom Carl Philip is both uncle and godfather.
Sofia isn’t the only Swedish royal set to welcome a baby in the new year. Carl Philip’s older sister, Crown Princess Victoria, and her husband, Prince Daniel, are expecting their second child in March. It seems baby talk will be a hot topic among Sweden’s royal princesses for the next little while.
We can’t wait to see Carl Philip and Sofia’s baby. But could he or she possibly be this cute?
Well, maybe. Look at his/her mom and dad. Congrats to all the expectant royal parents!
