Apple has moved into the transportation market–as if we didn’t have enough Apple products already.
Ever since Google announced its self-driving car, we thought that cars couldn’t get any better. (At least until we get the hovercraft that Back To The Future promised.) Now we have the Apple car to look forward to.
While Apple itself hasn’t admitted to working on the car, engineers working on Project Titan, the code name for the Apple car, have pretty much spilled the beans. It’s actually been referred to as the ‘worst kept secret in silicon valley’. The Wall Street Journal even ran a story about the car.
So, what should we expect from the car? Well other than iPhone compatible we’re not sure. It is speculated that the car will have self-driving features; Apple can’t let Google be the only one with a self-driving car!
The question everyone now has is ‘how good will an Apple car be?’ GM has commented, stating that Apple can’t do any better in the car business then them, since they’ve been in it for so long. We’ve been surprised by Apple before, so you never know! Apple has recently entered the transportation game, funding Didi (a rival to the Uber company in China). Perhaps they’re using what they learn to help design their car.
Will that be enough to make the Apple car a success? We’ll have to wait until 2021 to find out. We just hope it comes with Apple music.
