Another year, another April Fools’ Day to remember. This year, tech companies lead the way when it came to creating innovative, brilliant and downright nutty April Fools’ Day products. Here are some of our favourite ones we kind of wish were real.

1. Potty-mouth be gone

potty-mouth

If your swear jar is filled to the brim because you just can’t seem to stop dropping F-bombs, you might wish the Potty Mouth Censor voice-recognition app was the real deal. The app claims to work on a split-second delay so instead of hearing you curse, the person on the other line will hear a bleep.

2. Google + panda = Greatest idea ever

The Google Panda can answer all of your questions and understand 50 different languages and give you hugs. So, basically it’s google.com in adorable form. We really wish this was real.

3. You’ll never stand at an airport again

Why stand in line to board a plane when WestJet’s SmartSeats can take you right to your spot? Once you get to the boarding area, just strap in and let the seat do the work for you. It’s literally your plane seat so it’ll actually roll you onto the plane and then roll you off.

4. Take a break by using dial-Up mode

Having a super fast internet connection isn’t always a good thing. You don’t have time to enjoy the simple things in life because you’re always glued to your device. In comes Google’s Dial-Up mode. It’ll take you back to the good old days when connecting to the internet meant hearing what sounded like 10 robots dying for 10 minutes straight. This way, you’ll find time to take a washroom break, make coffee AND talk to your family. Hah, Google is too good.

5. RE Sok will rock your world

htc-resok

This HTC smart sock can do everything your regular socks can’t. It can find its missing pair using GPS, warn you when there’s a hole and let you know when you’ve got a text — you’ll just have to bend over if you want to read ’em.

6. Google’s Smartbox is like a mailbox, but, you know, smarter

People still get a lot of snail mail delivered to them, right? So why not toss out that boring old mailbox and get a new high-tech one. This Google one comes with smart folders that’ll keep your mail organized and will warn you when there’s no mail, saving you a trip from walking outside to check.

7. Drop your gaming controller and jump into the pool

PlayStation took April Fools’ Day very seriously this year. They introduced PlayStation Flow. A wearable technology that lets you play underwater video games, underwater. Yeah, all you have to do is put on Flow and hop into the pool. Voila, you’re no longer in your living room fighting dragons, you’re literally doing it underwater.

8. Prep vegetables for dinner while taking on the phone

Samsung-Galaxy-BLADE-edge

The Galaxy BLADE edge is basically a (real) Galaxy smartphone that can also slice into things (fake). It’s shiny, it’s edgy and, unfortunately, it doesn’t exist.

9. Motorola’s #MotoSelfieStick

Selfie sticks are so generic looking, but Motorola wants to change that. Their selfie stick is made with genuine leather by rugged men with beards who believe in craftsmanship and passion for beautiful selfies.

10. T-Mobile’s Pets Unleashed

The time has finally arrived, people. A cell phone family plan for everyone in your family. Yes, that means your pet rabbit, dog and iguana can finally text, make calls and ignore you when you ask them a question because they’re busy playing Angry Birds on their cell.

11. KAT sofa will sharpen claws without getting damaged

IKEA’s KAT sofa is made out of 100 per cent cardboard and it’s so chic. This way your cat can sharpen its claws while your fabulous couch remains undamaged. Win-win!
