Beauty is said to be in the eye of the beholder, of which there is always one. No matter who you are, there is someone who thinks you’re beautiful. By this logic, we are all beautiful. It is this thinking that led to Mihaela Noroc’s ambitious project, The Atlas of Beauty, which has taken the 29-year-old photographer to different continents, shooting women of varying heights, weights, skin colour and manner of dress.

The only variable that has remained consistent is age. “Through The Atlas of Beauty, I wish to compare the faces of the world and to show that all women from my photos have something beautiful,” Noroc writes in her manifesto. “But the comparison has to be made using similar conditions and so I choose only one age group, the one I’m part of.”

Noroc says she would like to cover other age groups, but it needs to be done properly. And to do that, she’s seeking support from her fans. In the meantime, her work speaks for itself. From Ethiopia to Australia, New York to Iran, Noroc has captured the natural beauty of women everywhere. And it’s simply gorgeous. Take a tour of the world’s beauty in the gallery below:
