Well, now, this just got interesting. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson are showing no signs of slowing down and are clearly committed to one another. The speed with which their relationship has blossomed — from rebound to full-blown love, then an engagement and moving in together — has been equivalent to that at which sound moves but there’s also something kind of sweet about them. Some people fall hard quick and for many, it’s often one-sided. To find someone who feels the same way you do at the exact same time? Frankly, they’re a perfect match.
Along with the relationship stuff, Pete has gotten tattoos inspired by his lady and Ariana has done the same. Her latest one, “Pete,” is on her ring finger which is nice and all but it’s what she got before it that’s absolutely lovely. To match the one on her beau’s arm, Ari got “8418” on her ankle, which was the badge number of Pete’s late father, who died on 9/11. Pete also gave Ariana his dad’s firefighter badge pendant and, naturally, had to defend the gesture and fend off accusations that he gave the same necklace to his ex, Cazzie David (apparently Cazzie’s necklace was a replica and Ari’s is the real deal).
Whatever the case, it’s clear how significant that number is to Pete and, now, Ariana — so much so that people surmised that the couple could get married on that date. Yup, 8418 = August 4, 2018.
Kind of perfect, no? And totally convenient that it’s a Saturday too. Would it be a rush job? Maybe. But maybe not. They have the means to make anything happen, be it a big do with all their loved ones or a City Hall deal with a celebration afterwards.
Should they maybe take more time to get to know each other? Of course. Take a step back, perhaps spend an hour apart and realize the world’s not about to come to an end? Sure. Because this intense love, those grab-on-and-never-let-go feelings — they won’t last. They simply can’t. And it’ll be quite the reality check for both Ari and Pete. Now whether they survive the lows as well as they do the highs will be the real test. Here’s hoping their divorce doesn’t come as quick as everything else before it has.
