Oh Pariana. How I mourn your death daily. The BDE, the memes, the adorable pet pig. But all good things must come to an end, including passionate and unlikely celebrity pairings. And even though Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson‘s whirlwind engagement had so many people rooting for them, permanent reminders of your ex are never a good look — especially when they’re on your skin. So, while every erasure of their relationship pains me greatly, I can’t blame a gal for not wanting to be reminded of her ex-fiancé every time she looks down at her left hand.

The singer and comedian shared more than one matching ink tribute. Pete had Ari’s initials on his thumb, Ari had his name on her ring ringer, they both had “H2GKMO” (Honest to God, knock me out) and cloud tattoos. Most famously, Pete had Ariana’s Dangerous Woman bunny ears (now covered up with a heart) inked on his neck.

But the first tattoo Ari had covered up (at least that we know of) was their matching “Reborn” one — allegedly a reference to Kid Cudi‘s song of the same name.

In a lovely Instagram story she shared honouring the friends who’ve helped her along the way, the “Reborn” tattoo is all but a distant memory. In its place is what appears to be a leaf-like feather, olive branch or sprig of lavender.

Am I disappointed? A little. But whatever it takes for Ari to feel good again is fine by me. RIP Pariana. Though you might not have made it IRL, may you live on forever in Halloween costume form.
