As any Doctor Who fan knows, time is really just a ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff. Or, to put it a little more simply: anything is possible. The Doctor has many faces and could, conceivably, look like anyone. Even, say… Shia LaBeouf?

Yes. Even Shia LaBeouf.

At least, that’s the theme of a series of paintings from artist Brandon Bird, who has reimagined the eccentric actor as each of the 12 Doctors from Doctor Who. His oil paintings place LaBeouf in the iconic costumes of each iteration of the famous time traveller, from the First Doctor played by William Hartnell in the ’60s, the beloved scarf-wearing Fourth Doctor played by Tom Baker in the ’70s, all the way up to Peter Capaldi’s curmudgeonly Twelfth Doctor in the current run.

And we have to say, imagining LaBeouf as the Doctor kind of… works? With all of his bizarre public behavior and increasingly strange acting choices of the last few years (and we’re not even talking about that “Indiana Jones” movie!), LaBeouf definitely seems like the actor most likely to live a secret life as an immortal time traveller, scouring the universe for intrigue and adventure. (Well… maybe James Franco, but LaBeouf is pretty good, too.)

Take a look at some of Bird’s art below:

Bird describes the First Shia LaBeouf as “wry, cantankerous, and oftentimes mercurial.”

Here, Bird displays several of his LaBeouf-as-The-Doctor paintings. If you had all of these, you wouldn’t need anything else to decorate your home.

Unsurprisingly, Bird’s original oil paintings have all been sold already, but you can buy prints of his “LaBeouf is Doctor Who” in his online store. The real question is: Which Shia LaBeouf will you buy?
