Well, this might be even more memorable than Game of Thrones‘ epic Red Wedding. Oh, who are we kidding; that’s not possible, but this is still cool. Sansa and Arya Stark are all grown up, and Sansa’s real-life wedding is proof.

Filming for the final season of the HBO drama is underway, but actors Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) are already looking to their futures. Namely, Turner’s upcoming wedding to fiancé Joe Jonas, and who will be in their wedding party.

The couple announced their engagement after roughly a year of dating last fall, but now Williams has confirmed that she will indeed be a bridesmaid at the nuptials, leading us all to fan out over the news. After all, on-screen Arya missed both of her sister’s weddings, first to Tyrion Lannister and then to Ramsay Bolton (shudder). It only makes sense that Williams would be a part of Turner’s shindig “this time” around.

I said yes.

“I’ve already got it. Oh yeah,” Williams revealed to Radio Times when they asked if she was hoping for a role as bridesmaid. “It’s very, very exciting. It’s kind of bizarre though.”

Aside from playing sisters onscreen, the actors are BFFs in real life. After growing up on the show together, climbing to fame at the same time and having to go through puberty in front of millions of people, we’d like to think this friendship was pretty much inevitable. So does Turner, which was probably why she asked Williams to stand up for her in the first place.

there were never such devoted sisters

“To have someone who understands what you’re going through [as you’re adjusting to fame], who’s the same age, who came from pretty much the same background — that is so rare,” the 21-year-old Turner told Elle Magazine last year. “And we’ve had the same struggles in terms of dealing with body image and puberty and growing up in the public eye. But I found my strength in her, and I think she found her strength in me.”

If that’s how Turner talks about her BFF now, can you just picture how sweet the actual wedding speech will be? Man, the times we wish we could be a fly on the wall. Of course, plenty of the actual wedding details still have to be worked out, given how busy Turner and Williams are filming Game of Thrones right now.

Happy 7th August 🕺🏻🤸🏻‍♂️⭐️

“We’re waiting until this season is done until we get into any of that,” Williams also said in the interview. “But I think she’s already letting her little heart wander and imagine.”

While our hearts wander and imagine too, we have to say that we’re plenty pumped that #Mophie continues to be a thing without us having to actually ship it too hard. It isn’t often that we see women — especially young women — develop and foster this kind of a public friendship, but it’s definitely heart-swelling to see. And if last season’s epic Petyr Baelish twist taught us anything, it’s that Arya and Sansa are taking note.

Now if only Turner could confirm a winter-themed wedding to boot.
