Ashlee Simpson and her kids react to gender reveal

Ashlee Simpson and husband Evan Ross are excited to be expanding their family this year. The couple are already parents to four-year-old daughter Jagger and 11-year-old son Bronx, whom Ashley shares with ex-husband Pete Wentz. Now Simpson and Ross are preparing for a new baby boy, but a video of Simpson’s gender reveal shows that not everyone in the house is excited. We try not to recommend comfort food for kids, but we think Jagger might need a bowl of ice cream after this gender reveal.In a video posted on both Simpson and Ross’ Instagram accounts, the pop singer and her two children cut into a beautifully designed cake from the Los Angeles bakery Cakes by Claritza while dad Evan stands nearby. An avalanche of blue sprinkles pours out from the cake, announcing that the family of four is about to welcome a new baby boy. The couple’s famous friends, including Rita Ora, Taryn Manning, Jesse McCartney, Brittany Snow, Paris Hilton, and Audrina Patridge congratulated the pair on their exciting baby news.

Thankfully, little Jagger has her cousins Maxwell and Birdie to play with when she’s tired of her brothers. Simpson’s sister Jessica Simpson lives nearby in Los Angeles with her family, which includes husband Eric Johnson and their three children.Simpson and Ross announced their pregnancy on April 30 with matching Instagram posts. The couple partnered with Clear Blue Pregnancy Tests and March of Dimes for their announcement, writing “During this unprecedented time, we know pregnant women may be under greater stress which is why we are supporting @marchofdimes Mom and Baby #COVID19 Intervention and Support Fund.” The couple’s pregnancy announcement received a big “Yaaaaasss! So excited” comment from Ross’ sister, actor Tracee Ellis Ross.

Simpson and Ross first began dating in 2013 and were married one year later. The pair gave fans a glimpse into their private life on the 2018 E! reality series Ashlee + Evan. Ross, who is singer Diana Ross’s fourth child, appears in the upcoming movie Pink Skies Ahead, which marks the feature film debut by Canadian writer Kelly Oxford.Earlier this week, Ross announced that he has been working on a face mask collaboration with artist Amanda Demme. “The past few weeks I’ve been busy working on a collection of face masks in support of the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund,” wrote Ross. “Excited to launch these, and share with you all, as we come together to raise awareness and funds for a worldwide cause.”
