Ashley Graham has some warranted criticism for those who constantly call her a ‘real woman.’ And no, it’s not that Graham feels that she isn’t ‘real,’ — instead, she stands in solidarity with all women, regardless of their shape, size, height or weight. After all, are compliments at the expense of others really worth giving?

In a powerful Instagram story, the model shares a photo of herself in a bathing suit along with the caption, “We are all real women. I can’t stand it when I read comments that say, ‘Finally, a real woman.’ No matter your size/shape/amount of cellulite, we are in this together.”

In a recent interview with Glamour, Graham states, “Being comfortable with who you are is something nobody can ever change.” That comfort should be inclusive of all people, no matter what number shows up on the scale. “Beauty is beyond size. Real beauty can’t be seen on the outside; it’s everything on the inside being spilled out from your pores and the creases of your body,” she continues.

So let’s make this clear: anyone who identifies as a woman is a real woman — no ifs, ands or buts.
