Just because you have a ton of money doesn’t mean you have to spend it. That’s right, we’re looking at you Evan Spiegel, you sly, frugal dog, you. But also, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. They’ve known each other for a long time and loved each other for a long time, so they knew exactly what the other wanted when it came time to picking out the perfect wedding rings. And it turns out, just like with their relationship, they like to keep things simple.

Mila was on Conan Wednesday night when host Conan O’Brien praised the subtlety of her ring.

“It’s not showy,” Conan told Mila. “It’s not, like, incredibly flashy, which I think is cool.”

Kunis thanked him, then revealed, “So, my husband and I got married and he got me a beautiful engagement ring. Like, stunning, stunning, stunning! But for our wedding bands — for when we got married — I decided to just get them off of Etsy.”

Mila explained, “I wanted the thinnest possible platinum band. I mean, you can’t see it, but it’s super, super thin.”

As the camera zoomed in on her ring (she wasn’t kidding, it’s REALLY thin), she recalled being shocked by the “astronomical” prices Tiffany and Co. was asking for their wedding bands.

“So, I went on Etsy and I was like, ‘$90?’ I was like, ‘Buy now!’ Ashton’s was $100, so technically his wedding band was a little bit more expensive.”

She added that even though her engagement ring is beautiful, she doesn’t ever wear it. “This ring, I’m like, ‘It’s $90!’ It’s great. That person on Etsy had no clue whose ring they were making, but they were wonderful and very nice and polite and generous.”

Aw. Perfectly in keeping with the Kutchers’ low-key style and profile. And speaking of style, is anyone else wondering if Mila’s other ring came from Etsy because how cute?? It just goes to show you that symbols of your love don’t need to cost several mortgage payments or the down payment on a car. Guess it’s up to you if you need your rings to come in a robin’s egg blue box or arrive in the mail three weeks after ordering.
