Mother’s Day is just around the corner and whether you’re celebrating having you mom, your grandmother, aunt, mother figure, partner, being celebrated yourself, or remembering a woman in your life who made a difference, Mother’s Day is an important holiday.

We turned our cameras on students from the Carol C Dance Studio and Great Big Theatre Company to find out why their moms are important to them. The kids told us what they love about their moms, how their moms make them laugh, and what their moms do best. Spoiler – even if you’re not Martha Stewart, your kids probably still love your mac and cheese. Second spoiler – this video will probably make you cry.

Raising kids is the toughest job in the world and even though we should be thanking mom and mom figures every day, having one specific day to celebrate the special lady in your life is a great way to look back on all the big and little things mom’s do for us everyday. So many little things. When do moms sleep? They don’t.

Mother’s Day is important no matter how old you are, maybe even more so as adult. While parents of young kids may not always feel like their hard work is being noticed, it definitely is.

Special thanks to the Carol C Dance Studio and Great Big Theatre Company.
